Philosophy of Care
Dr. Anastasia Jones, PsyD (she/her)
I am deeply committed to guiding athletes through the intricacies of mental resilience in both sports and life. My passion for this work is rooted in my personal journey as an athlete, shaped by years of competing in various sports, including Division III basketball. Today, I continue to engage in endurance events, drawing on the same mental skills that I impart to my clients. Together, we cultivate a mindset that empowers athletes to excel, not only in their sport but also in their personal pursuits.
In college, I uncovered the profound intersection of my passion for sports and a deep-seated desire to empower individuals. This pivotal realization has guided my path ever since. Witnessing my clients achieve their goals—whether in the realm of athletics, personal development, or both—gives me a sense of fulfillment that is truly unparalleled.
No matter your current circumstances, I am here to empower you on your journey toward mental resilience and unwavering confidence. Together, we will harness your inner strength and cultivate the skills needed to transcend obstacles, allowing you to not just envision your goals, but to attain
them with grace and ferocity.
Your potential is boundless; let’s unlock it together.

Sport Psychology
Sport psychology is a dynamic field that harnesses the power of the mind to enhance athletic performance and well-being. This discipline explores the intricate relationship between psychological factors and physical performance, equipping athletes with the mental tools necessary for success. From developing resilience and focus to improving motivation and managing stress, sport psychology provides essential strategies that empower athletes to overcome challenges and achieve their peak potential. Whether working with individuals or teams, sport psychologists foster an environment where mental toughness thrives, turning setbacks into opportunities for growth, and igniting the passion for excellence in sport.
As a dedicated sport psychologist, my mission is to empower athletes to reach their peak performance while simultaneously addressing vital mental health concerns. With a sophisticated approach, I provide tailored strategies to help clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, and life transitions that often accompany the rigors of competitive sports. I recognize that the journey to excellence is not solely about physical prowess; it encompasses emotional resilience and mental clarity. Through personalized interventions, I guide athletes in overcoming barriers, including the complexities of injury recovery, fostering a holistic path to well-being and optimal performance. Together, we will cultivate the mindset necessary to thrive in both sport and life.
My approach encompasses several key areas:
Enhancing Performance: By applying mental skills training, I intend to equip athletes with tools for focus, resilience, and confidence. Techniques such as visualization, mindfulness, and self-talk will be tailored to their specific sport and individual circumstances.
Addressing Mental Health Concerns: I prioritize the mental well-being of the athletes I work with. This involves recognizing symptoms of anxiety and depression that may hinder performance and overall quality of life. Collaborative interventions will be established to help athletes navigate these challenges.
Supporting Life Transitions: Athletes often face significant life changes, whether moving to a higher level of competition, dealing with retirement, or adjusting to new roles outside of sport. I strive to guide them through these transitions with strategies that foster adaptability and personal growth.
Facilitating Injury Recovery: Injuries can be not only physically debilitating but also psychologically taxing. My objective is to support athletes through their recovery journeys, providing coping strategies and mental resilience training to mitigate the emotional toll of injury and facilitate a successful return to their sport.
Fostering Holistic Development: My approach recognizes the athlete as a whole person. I aim to cultivate an understanding of the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and physical health, empowering athletes to seek balance and fulfillment in all aspects of their lives.
Through these goals, I aspire to help athletes not just reach their peak performance but also thrive mentally and emotionally, ensuring that they can enjoy their sport and pursue their passions with confidence and well-being.
